Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was a television personality, a former chef for the Institute of Culinary Education and formerly teaches cooking. She's the host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. With her trademark spiky blond hair and bubbly persona Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of eating out and offers simple, easy-to-master recipes to the home cook in her Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell has also worked in many of New York's best establishments, studied Italian food and its traditions, and was a contestant on Food Network Iron Chef America. As a youngster in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was attracted by the food. She pursued her passion for food and restaurant by enroling in The Culinary Institute of America following the completion of a bachelor's degree in English and Communications from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. I enjoyed every moment as a student The Culinary Institute of America she says. It was hard to study and do enough or put in the hours. Chef Burrell was a graduate of The Culinary Institute for Foreigners in Italy spent one year working in Umbria at La Taverna del Lupo and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, a Michelin-starred restaurant. Her time spent in Italy made her more aware and appreciate the Italian style of living and the culture and has made an impression on her culinary perspective. Burrell was a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which improves children's lives who have issues and also is an Juvenile diabetes research foundation Celebrity Ambassador, where she promotes the awareness of juvenile diabetes. In her capacity as a guest speaker and coach, she travels throughout the U.S. to share her culinary passion and professional career. Throughout Anne's culinary journey she often says that she feels blessed to be able to share what I love most within my life with other people.
