Soon after her birth, her parents relocated to Dallas, Texas. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School of the Performing and Visual Arts in the city center of Dallas. She earned her BFA in acting from Stephens College, and also went to the British American Drama Academy. Furthermore, she was a part of six years at the respected Dallas Theatre Center and one year at the theatre's Encore Company. Her acting career began in the theater before her screen debut. Her stage credits include "As You Like It", “A Funny Thing Happened On the Road to the Forum", "Measure for Measure", and "Chicago" along with as numerous other productions. Her first big break came when she starred alongside Angelina Jolie in Michael Cristofer's acclaimed HBO television series Gia (1998) making her famous to audiences and critics, alike. Elizabeth's charismatic acting abilities were evident in the sci-fi action film Frequency (2000) and in the cast of Dennis Quaid and Neil LaBute. Elizabeth Mitchell is an actor with numerous credits, which include movies, TV shows, and theaters. When she was the filming of Frequency ((2000)), she broke her nose. In 1994, did Hertz Rent-A-Car commercial but "they pulled it because of the O.J. thing." David Lee Smith was her boyfriend in 1995. Their parents are real estate agents from Dallas and tax attorneys who own their own firm, situated just five blocks from their Dallas home. After playing the role of Rosalind in "As You Like It" for a number of years, Rosalind returned to the U.S. Her parents relocated to Dallas, Texas shortly after she was born in LA in 1970. She attended Booker T. Washington High School of the Performing and Visual Arts in the city of Dallas, Texas. She graduated from Stephens College in 1991 with an Fine Arts Degree. The back end 2001 was spent playing Cyd, a character opposite Ioan Gruffudd. The series aired from in March 2002 on BBC 1 TV.
